The Programme (MSc)

Introduction

Admission to the MSc programme is carried out through written examinations.

Candidates are examined in two subjects. For the specialization “Civil Law”, candidates are examined in Civil Law and Civil Procedure Law. For the specialization “Civil Procedure Law”, candidates are examined in Civil Procedure Law and Civil Law. For the specialization “Labour Law”, candidates are examined in Labour Law (Individual and Collective) and, at their choice, either Civil Law or Civil Procedure Law. The examined subjects per specialization may be modified following a proposal by the Coordinating Committee of the MSc and a decision of the Department Assembly taken prior to the publication of the examination call.

Successful written examination in English, French, or German on a legal text of general content is also required, unless candidates possess certified excellent knowledge of one of these languages (level C2), according to the Council of Europe system, which is accepted by ASEP.

 

Admitted Students

Graduates of Law Departments of domestic universities and of Law Departments of recognized equivalent institutions abroad are admitted to the MSc. The number of admitted students per year is set at a maximum of thirty (30).

 

The Programme

Description of the Programme

The MSc offers three specializations:

  1. “Civil Law”
  2. “Civil Procedure Law”
  3. “Labour Law”

The programme is structured into three (3) academic semesters. Students must attend and be examined in four (4) courses during the 1st and 2nd semesters. During the 3rd semester, students prepare their Master’s Thesis.

The language of instruction and of the thesis is Greek.

The total number of credits (ECTS) required for the award of the Master’s Degree is ninety (90). Each ECTS corresponds to 25 hours of workload.

Duration of Studies

The duration required for the award of the Master’s Degree is three (3) semesters.

 

Degree Title

The MSc awards a Master’s Degree (MSc) titled:
“Civil Law, Civil Procedure Law and Labour Law”, in the following specializations:

  1. Civil Law
  2. Civil Procedure Law
  3. Labour Law

 

Tuition Fees

Fees

For students admitted in the academic year 2021–2022, tuition fees are set at a total of nine hundred euros (€900). Fees per semester amount to three hundred euros (€300).

Postgraduate students are exempt from tuition fees if they meet the income criteria defined by law, provided they have not received a similar exemption for another MSc. Exempted students may not exceed 30% of the total number of admitted students. If eligible applicants exceed this percentage, selection is made based on ranking, starting from those with the lowest income. Applications for fee exemption are submitted to the MSc Secretariat after completion of the admission process.

 

Scholarships

Provided that operational needs are covered, the MSc awards one scholarship to the top-ranked student upon admission. The scholarship takes the form of full exemption from tuition fees.
